Comparison Period: The following insights are based on comparing the four-week retail month of October this year (29th September – 26th October 2025) to the same period last year (30th September – 27th October 2024).
Foot Traffic Trends:
- Passer-by traffic rose 1.5% YoY in October. Passer-by traffic has now been in growth for 3 consecutive months (+2.4% YoY over the last 3 months)
- In-store traffic increased 0.3% YoY in October, reversing the steep decline of 4.9% YoY seen in September
Sales Conversion and Transactions Performance:
- Sales conversion improved 0.6% YoY in October, a significant turnaround from the -2.5% YoY in September
- As a result, transactions increased 0.9% YoY in October, a significant turnaround from the -7.3% YoY in September
Average Transaction Values (ATVs):
- Average Transaction Values (ATVs) increased 2.6% YoY in October, although this was behind the 3-month average of +4.4% YoY
Sales Performance:
- Sales grew 3.5% YoY in October, a significant improvement on the -1.9% YoY in September
- Sales have now been in growth in 5 out of the last 6 months, providing positive momentum as we head into the critical peak trading period
