Australian Retail Sales $ were up 11.2% and 6% during the final 2 weeks of 2021 compared to 2019.
This shows in retailers’ sales targets (expectations) being exceeded by 13.4% and 8.8% respectively during these 2 weeks.
Traffic and its associated measures continue to be soft compared to 2019.
The data clearly points to lesser traffic with a greater propensity to shop (up 26.9% and 41.8% on 2019) and shop deeper in the stores they visit (ATV 27.6% and 22.5% up on 2019).
